2021 - Expansion of our product range
We have expanded our Comfort series to include battery-powered hydraulic stand tools. These can be used flexibly as stand or hand tools and offer you greater safety and ergonomics thanks to their design and low center of gravity.2020 - Holger Clasen at Mercateo

2019 - The Comfort Series

In September we introduced the Comfort series in the area of cable processing. This runs parallel to the established Cable-Max series and is characterized by individually adjustable functions to increase tool control. The tools are also equipped with powerful 18 V Makita batteries, so that the work steps can be completed even faster.
At the same time, we have completely redesigned our website and are now also available on our new Instagram channel.
2017 - Holger Clasen turns 85

We are celebrating our 85th anniversary! We celebrated with our guests in September on the floating crane SCHWAMMKRAN HHLA I KARL FRIEDRICH STEEN. Among other things, we held a HOLGER CLASEN challenge in which employees and guests used our tools to solve challenging speed and skill tasks.
Lennart Clasen:
„Dem Menschen die Arbeit zu erleichtern war von Beginn unsere Mission. Sie zieht sich wie ein roter Faden durch unsere Unternehmensgeschichte. Unser Erfolg wurde nicht zuletzt durch zahlreiche technische Innovationen, gute und häufig selbst ausgebildete Mitarbeiter sowie eine global vernetzte Unternehmenskultur geprägt.“
2012 - More products and new website
We are pleased to be able to offer new products in the field of rotor blade manufacturing for cutting and grinding GRP materials.
In November, our website will go online with a new layout and clear structures. Company and product videos as well as our new products can now be found on the website.
2011 - RC 14 newly introduced, sculpture "Pressure" stolen

Our hand-held pressing tool RC 14-A is making a name for itself with its extremely high performance: It has a pressing force of 14 tons, which corresponds to the weight of 14 VW Golfs, and weighs only 6 kg. It is the only cordless tool in the world that performs pressings with the K38 index. This corresponds to a cable cross-section of 400 mm². New Li-ion batteries provide the powerhouse with a 65 percent higher battery capacity.
During the Hanover Fair, the company sculpture "Druck" was stolen. It was made in 1997 and accompanied our trade fair stand as a company symbol for years.
2009 - TÜV DIN EN ISO 9001

On April 15th we were successfully certified according to the quality management system DIN EN ISO 9001.
With our DuoLiner® we enable our customers to cut and press power cables with just one tool. The conversion is done quickly and with a force of 52 kN the tool exceeds the values of the bar tools that were standard on the market up to that point.
2008 - Rapid SerieS And ELWA® Basic
This year we are introducing the new Rapid series in the area of cable processing. Our battery-operated hydraulic cutting and pressing tools are characterized by the high impact resistance of the housing, the ELWA® Basic function monitoring, and narrow and rotatable heads. The two-stage hydraulics and the optimized rapid feed ensure that your cutting and pressing work is carried out more quickly.
2007 - Holger Clasen turns 75

On April 1st, our company will be 75 years old. To mark the occasion, we will be celebrating with our closest customers and business partners in Hamburg on the 3-masted schooner Mare Frisium and sailing through the harbor along the Elbe. The day will end with a festive reception on the 20th floor of the Atlantikhaus at Hamburg Harbor.
2002 - Lennart Clasen takes over

Lennart Clasen becomes the new managing director. As the founder's grandson, he takes over management in the third generation.
We are once again setting groundbreaking standards: Our quality documentation software DoQu® is being introduced. At the same time, we have further refined the ELWA® function control. Today, ELWA® is in each of our cordless tools and ensures the high quality of the results.

We are also introducing ELWA®, the function control in hydraulic pressing tools. This enables you to monitor and document pressing processes.
1997 - Company sculpture „Druck“

The artist and sculptor Heinrich Eder has created an expressive company symbol for us that embodies our mission of "making people's work easier". The stainless steel sculpture called "Pressure" is life-size and consists of hundreds of welded VA4 sheets. It shows a man crouching down, pressing and shaping something invisible with his hands. The silver-colored sculpture will be given a place of honor in front of our building.
1995 - Battery-operated press machines for cold pressing
With the REC-SAN tool, we are the first manufacturer to present a battery-operated press machine for cold pressing in the sanitary industry and are once again initiating a change in technology.
1985 - Battery technology arrives
This year we launch battery-operated hydraulic cutting and pressing tools for cutting and connecting power cables. The innovative battery technology is initially laughed at by the industry. A short time later, our tools are considered the new standard!
1980 - Expansion of our product range

In the eighties we expanded our product range again and introduced pneumatic drives as well as measuring and calibration systems.
1970 - Introduction of new types of tools
We are the first provider on the market to introduce hand-hydraulic cutting and pressing tools for cable assembly. They work at 700 bar and replace the bulky mechanical devices with low force. In the area of grinding and screwing, we take the first steps towards automation.1960 - Bernd Clasen takes over

When Bernd Clasen takes over management in the second generation, he recognizes our opportunity in advancing globalization and begins to build pioneering partnerships worldwide.
Our product range is expanded to include hand-held pneumatic tools. This opens up a successful sales channel with numerous customers from the electrical and metal industries, vehicle construction and plastics industries. We soon become experts in the treatment of surfaces with pneumatic tools.
Bernd Clasen: "People and their tools - constantly improve themselves and their work equipment. The focus is on advice from the product to the application." This insight gives rise to the company's mission of "making people's work easier". It remains so to this day.
1939 - 1945 - 2nd World War
In den Kriegsjahren wird der Betrieb mehrfach durch Bombenangriffe zerstört. Doch Holger Clasen lässt sich nicht aufhalten und baut seine Firma unermüdlich immer wieder auf.1932 - The Founding

Holger Clasen from Hamburg recognized the need for good tools and improvements in applications and founded his company named after him in Hamburg on April 1, 1932. As an equipment supplier for the shipping industry, he initially supplied power tools and abrasives. With ambitious goals, he set about further developing and optimizing the products available up to that point.
